The project was to evaluate the existing 1889 Oyster Bay Rail Road Station and preparation of associated Architectural and Engineering plans including foundation and structural aspects, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design to restore station back to it’s 1902 glory.
Newport, working closely with the Oyster Bay Rail Road Museum organization, provided turnkey professional services from Architectural Design and Civil/Site, Structural, HVAC/Plumbing, and Electrical Engineering Design and preparation of full bid package for all restoration work and upgrading building simultaneously to present building code.
Foundation settlement, missing wood structural and decorative historical components, windows/doors sealed off, evaluating present headers, restoring original windows and lead glazing, and reconstruction of formerly removed canopies.
